5 Ways To Give Your Brand a Refresh
Is your brand accomplishing your visual goals? Are your ideal clients reaching out to you?
Giving your business a refresh is a great way to update the look of your business and market it in a new light. We’re sharing our top five business tips to update your brand.
To review the basics, a brand and a logo are not the same. While a logo is a specifically designed mark that is associated with your brand and can serve as an identifier for your clients, a brand is much more. Your brand is the monetary and emotional connection your customer has to your business, what visuals and feelings they recall in their mind when telling a friend, and ultimately what sets you apart from the crowd.
Three reasons you
need a new logo:
1. Your logo is hard to read / out-dated
2. The logo no longer represents the business
3. You only have a small JPG file of your logo from years ago
However, sometimes you don’t need a new logo and you need a creative refresh.
Three reasons to
refresh your brand:
1. You’re not talking to your ideal clients
2. Your business isn’t standing out
3. You feel that itch for a change
5 ways to give
your business
an updated
look without changing
your logo:
1. Color palette
Changing up your brands color palette is a great visual way to update your brand’s marketing and logo. This could mean adding one more color for a new addition, or brightening or muting the current palette.
2. Fonts
Your brand should have a collection of fonts that you use and carry throughout your marketing pieces including the print collateral, email signature, website, etc. Fonts just like everything have trends and go out of style. Picking a whole new set of fonts to use in your marketing is a really fun (maybe just for us? #fontlovers) way to update your business’ look and make people really notice it.
3. Photography
Brand photography can have a big impact to updating your businesses look. New photos of your office, your current staff, what’s happening behind the scenes in the business are essential to stand out. One photoshoot can make the world of difference. A well-branded, styled photoshoot is an investment and takes dedicated time and planning. But it’s so worth it! These new images can be used in all elements of your business: website, social media, marketing pieces such as a brand brochure, lookbook, email campaigns, etc. We could go on and on- ask us!
4. Marketing Pieces
Look at your current marketing collateral to see if it’s a good reflection of the business and your offerings. Selecting a few pieces to refresh or creating a new piece that you don’t have but need to reach your ideal client. It’s important to know how to reach the clients you want and what will capture their attention.
5. Voice
Hone in on your brand’s voice to attract your dream clients. Ask yourself: Does my business have a voice? What's the brand's tone? Do I have a consistent voice that speaks to my ideal client? Am I proud of the company story, mission, and messaging? If you are unsure, it's time to update it. A writer and copywriter will give your business a new voice that can attract new clients and grab the attention you want surrounding your brand + impress the current ones.
